I'm really enjoying your gallery and the comments you've given people are very informative. Did you learn how to do these sort of paintings through trail and error or were you taught by people you have worked with?
I learned both by mysekf and with the help of few friends who already used to work in the industry. But it is a long process. Learning in a school among a lot of talented student is much more efficient. It is just my opinion.
I'm sorry buddy, I must've missed those two Your work is really amazing! Do you have any suggestions in terms of matte paintings? I would really like to get into that! Any suggestions are appreciated. Keep up the great work!
Hmm, about matte paintings I'm not an expert but I know that you have to study a lot of photographs. Try to understand the values, the lights and bouce lights. You'll have to use pictures and merge them with brushe strokes.
Maybe you should start to looking for some tutorials from matte painters as Dylan Cole for exemple.
Hey there ... sorry, it took me a minute to respond. I've been working on GTA 5 fanart for the past few days. Just wanted to say thanks for the link and suggestions. I really appreciate it. I'm a big fan of your work! Thanks again!
If you just use pictures you have this style of image. You need some drawing capabilities to merge photographic and brushes strokes parts. I'm able to do this without pictures but I still practicing this way because people will ask you to do it this way. It is the quickest way to have what they want in a short time.
What I would like to say it's : DON'T STOP DRAWING.
